Pollutec exhibition: students from IUT du Creusot coached by professionals from Réseau Mesure

This Wednesday, September 20, Estelle Duflot, director of the Measurement Network, spoke to the 3rd year students of the BUT Physical Measurements at the IUT du Creusot. The morning was devoted to preparing for the Pollutec trade show (October 10 to 13 in Lyon). Representatives from Kobold, Endress + Hauser and DEWEsoft were also present to answer students' questions.

For 45 years, the Pollutec show has been the showcase for innovative industrial solutions in terms of environmental preservation. With 1,600 exhibitors, 450 conferences and more than 50,000 professional visitors expected, this event is an event not to be missed for our 3rd year students, who will go there with 4 teachers on Thursday October 12. Discover potential employers, interact with experts, keep informed of the latest developments in the industrial sector: to enable students to achieve their visit objectives, the IUT contacted the Measurement Network.

This national network brings together more than 200 companies in the fields of measurement, control, calibration and experimentation. Present at this morning of preparation, its members Kobold, Endress + Hauser and DEWEsoft are experienced exhibitors at trade shows. After an introduction to the association by its director, the students of 3th year MP reviewed measurement companies and professions. “There are fantastic recruitment opportunities in this area” comments Ms. Duflot “but skills are not everything, the personal image of the candidate and the network also count a lot”. The second part of the morning was dedicated to identifying the expectations of companies, as well as the behavior to adopt during a trade show visit and more generally in the professional environment.

Patricia Colinot, head of the Physical Measurements department, explains: “ The third year of BUT is intended to be professional and we wanted to give students the experience of a major trade show. In order to best prepare for this visit, we were able to count on the valuable help and quality support of the Réseau Mesure. This morning meeting was a success. The testimonies were concrete, the exchanges rich, the students invested. "

The BUT Physical Measurements training is offered by 29 establishments in France, including the IUT du Creusot. This 3-year post-baccalaureate training trains senior technicians capable of carrying out and using measurements, in the industrial, research and service sectors. Aimed at high school students who are passionate about physics, chemistry, maths or even IT, the BUT Physical Measurements allows both direct entry into working life and continued studies in master's or engineering schools.
